Yakov

Currently a Ph.D. student in clinical psychology at Columbia University, Yakov has been an academic tutor for over six years. He has a Masters degree in education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and graduated cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology (specializing in adolescent development, cognition and learning) and minors in English and film, television, and digital media. Yakov has worked with students ranging from early high school to college level, and has experience accommodating many learning styles, including various special needs. His teaching emphasizes a relaxed but goal-driven approach, and skills including time and homework management, study and memory retention strategies, and success-oriented self-motivation.
